wine :: botani moscatel seco

Botani Moscatel Seco, 2011 (Sierras de Málaga, Spain)

If you want a wine that does it all, have we got one for you! This amazing, aromatic wine comes from Málaga, along Spain’s southern Mediterranean coast, is sourced from 70 year-old Muscat vines, and it is everything you want in a summertime wine. Botani’s nose is full of beautiful florals, tinged with green grass and a hint of salinity. Green apple, orange and white flowers dominate the palate, with a zippy acidity rounding out the mouth. This is the kind of wine that changes with every glass…even with every sip!

Pair this gorgeous wine with smoked pork, anything from a ham steak to pulled pork barbecue with tangy Eastern Carolina-style sauce. Always a great choice for shellfish or sushi, Botani is also going to pair with mild goat cheeses (you should definitely try it with the Cyprus Grove’s Purple Haze – an awesome pairing!) and other soft cheeses like St. Angel.

    This looks really tasty! We’ll have to give it a try. I’m always on the search for the – very elusive – perfect summer wine.
